Our water unit on the refrigerator started running very slow to the point of almost not working at all. We had just purchased the house which included the appliance. I thought the unit was going bad and I’d have a huge repair bill or worse. I thought I would start with the filter check first. Got the model number and searched the web. We found the GE Smartwater Ref. Filter online. From their it was pretty easy. Got a great price through Amazon.com. We received the pkg within a week. It was very easy to install and presto. A full stream of running water. My wife and kids are happy and that’s what is important!

The MWF filter did replace the GWF filter of my older refrigerator. It seems to work well and I DID NOT need to buy a new adapter. Who knows, your refrigerator may be different, but the MWF filter does replace my GWF filter no problems. Please note that I had to REMOVE the adapter connected to the old GWF (or MWF) filter that was to be discarded and place the adapter on the new filter. If you accidentally throw away the adapter or need it, you can buy it. Search for GWFadapter on Amazon and you will find it.

The smartfilter we bought was great, the price was good. Amazon shows it to be 3 filters for the price which is wrong. When i called the company they were easy to deal with. Wanted to make me happy said i could keep the filter or return it for full refund. Because it was still a good price for the one, we kept it.

We needed a water filter because the old one was out of date and was starting to give off black particals in the water when drawn. So, this new filter, (from Filters Fast) came 5 days before the due date of delivery. So that is why I feel that Filters Fast is worth your time because they make sure that the items you order come with super fast delivery. Highly recommend them.

The filter is fine and works for my refrigerator but the website is incorrect. It lists this as a 3-pack for $32 but it is actually just one filter. It came from Filters Fast and they seem understanding but the text is misleading for those thinking they’re getting a GREAT bargain!!

This is a great water filter and it gets plenty of use in my household. If anything I could say “I wish it held more water,” (I drink 3+ litres of water a day and it seems that I am always filling the darned thing up) – but that would be an unreasonable request. Who would want a dispenser so large that it would be unwieldy to carry to the refrigerator? No one – not even me. So I bought a second one so that one of them is always full! This dispenser is slim so that I can easily fit two side by side in my refrigerator. (Can’t have too much of a good thing!) And this filter/dispenser is definitely good – it has a large fill “basket” and the 2 stage filter produces water that is completely taste and odor free. I could easily tell the difference in my drinking water! Lastly, the filters (with usage indicators) are long-lasting. I have filled my first dispenser twice a day for 1 1/2 months and it still hasn’t reached the half way point. Very impressive results! Highly recommend.

I used BRITA filters for at least three and half years. Some earlier reviews said that BRITA filters produce little black particles in the water, I, too, experienced the same problem, even with new BRITA filters. Finally, about a month ago, I decided to switch to PUR. Not a single black particle appears in the water or the filter. Plus, the water tastes great, so crisp that it is almost a bit sweet. (To me, PUR water tastes much better than BRITA, and at least just as good as Dasani bottled water.) The dispenser has a faucet that saves the trouble of lifting the whole dispenser and pouring water.I am glad that I switched.

I have had this dispenser for about a month now and couldn’t be happier. I have owned a pitcher by Pur for several years and love it. I decided to get the dispenser because my wife and I drink a lot of water and we were having to refill our pitcher 3 or 4 times a day. Just like my pitcher the dispenser provides great tasting water. With the 1 gallon capacity of this unit I only have to refill it once a day or less and it is much easier to fill a glass using the spout rather than having to remove a pitcher from the fridge. My one small (very small) complaint is the amount of time it takes for the water to pass through the filter…VERY slowly. Although to be honest I probably wouldn’t complain if I hadn’t already owned the Pur pitcher and known how much faster that filter is. Overall I’m very happy with this item and highly recommend it.

After being frustrated for many years over the riding costs of bottled water and the disgusting taste of tap water, we decided to follow all the great advice from other users on this site, about the PUR Water Dispenser. From the start, the PUR Water Dispenser worked great. The filter lasted well beyond its average usage, and the easy indicator helped us know when was the right time to change it…unlike the Brita filter. We found the water taste to be far superior than bottled waters including Arrowhead and Aquafina. With this PUR water dispenser, there is no need to ever buy water again.

Held off three months before scribing this. First impressions may be wrong impressions. Second, shipping issues aren’t product performance. And there weren’t any here. The product performance exceeds expectations. Hometown water is municipal well water. Not bad really but not to die for or from either. So we were a bottled water clan. Gallons, quarts, liters, half liters, you get the picture. Buy the water, clutter the landfill, worry about the plastic leachate etc. Well, most of that is resolved here. Yes, this is a plastic dispenser but my friends and acquaintences in the medical and water purification business all agree this plastic doesn’t leach into the water. Others have commented on the PUR filters and water quality and the taste exceeds many national filtered water brands I pass in the shopping aisles every week. I secretly take pleasure at the money I don’t spend on all these jugs and bottles now. I have faithfully followed the manufacturers recommendations on filter replaceent and the severe taste critics living here under the same roof (daughters) unanimously agree that it passes their discerning palates for refreshment and nose for clarity. Well if that isn’t a ringing endorsement. Amazon price best.
