Gerber 30-000140 Crucial Tool, Green Review
The basic tool Gerber multitool is a very nice looking, but I do not think as good as some other options on the market. Has a less of my Leatherman Wave, but is still almost as large. The slightly curved body feels bulkier than flat and straight Wave. I also find the curved handles to be difficult to maintain when I’m with pliers because they are a bit ‘small and end up just digging into my palms. The carabiner / bottle opener is a very useful thing to have, but not enough to conquer it.
So I bought this as a compromise between a large bulky multitool like the Leatherman Wave, and a small, simple pocketknife as Gerbers that I owned in the past. It ‘a good compromise, fitting easily in your pocket with the clip included. The clamp works well, and the curved handle is easy to grasp. The blade is sharp and easy to open (even if the stallion had some wear, when I received, almost as if it had been used?), And lock into place strong screwdrivers. My complaint is only with the Philips-Head Screwdriver, since the bit is so small that it is almost useless. I can not imagine that putting a little ‘decent would not have added much space or weight, so what gives, Gerber?
